November 2017  –  A few photos from the premiere of On the Shoulders of Giants.    The event was attended by over 300 people, most of whom were connected to the Edmonton medical community.

 November 2017  – On Saturday November 25th, Jenna will attend the  premiere of her first documentary film, On the Shoulders of Giants.   The film is a true Alberta story about three doctors from the prairies who worked tirelessly and selflessly to improve the conditions of health care and education in the province of Alberta by founding what is now the world renowned Division of Gastroenterology at the University of Alberta.

The film is the first oral history documentary produced by Jenna’s new documentary film production company, Bailey and Soda Films.  



November 2017   – Jenna is thrilled to announce the launch Bailey and Soda Films, her new film production company which specializes in creating oral history based documentary films.



October 2017 –  The Ivy Benson Band reunion in Bristol.   The two-day reunion ended with an incredible gig at the Future Inn Jazz club!



October 2016 – Jenna attends the Oral History Association Annual Meeting in Long Beach, California to speak about the Coyote Flats Oral History Project.

May/June 2016 –  Jenna speaks at the Community Oral History Workshops at the Galt Museum, Crowsnest Pass Library and Staveley & District Museum. The workshops, hosted by the Centre for Oral History and Tradition and the Galt Museum and Archives, are a part of a series of oral history workshops that continue in September and October in Medicine Hat and Lethbridge.

October 2015 – Jenna attends the 2015 Governor General’s History Awards at Rideau Hall to help Coyote Flats Pioneer Village Oral History Project accept the 2015 Governor General’s History Award for Excellence in Community Programming.

April 2015 – Jenna teaches oral history to the media students at Picture Butte High School on April 14 so that they can conduct video interviews with volunteers from the Coyote Flats Pioneer Village. January 2015A Grief Observed Readers’ Edition released! Alongside essays by Hilary Mantel and Rowan Williams, Jenna has written an essay about the death of her younger sister Emma and the difficult process of grieving following her family’s tragic loss.

October 2014 – Jenna discusses the Ivy Benson Band at the European University Institute in Florence, Italy, looking specifically at women musicians as labourers and how women’s musical work is constantly devalued. This roundtable is a part of the Women, Work and Value in Postwar Europe, 1945-2015 Arts and Humanities Research Council Funded Network.

August 2014 – Jenna speaks about the Ivy Benson Band at the North American British Music Studies Association 2014 Conference in Las Vegas, USA.

June 2014 – Jenna attends the International Association for Biography and Autobiography (IABA): Autobiography in Transit Conference, in Banff, Alberta where she speaks about the members of the Ivy Benson Band who were travelling musicians and how this transient lifestyle influenced their lives.

September 2009Can Any Mother Help Me? translated into Dutch and released by Holland publisher Artemis and Co. under the title Het Geheime Tijdschrift.



February 2009Can Any Mother Help Me? developed into a stage play by Foursight Theatre Company. The show opened in February in Hereford and travelled to Wolverhampton, Portsmouth, Oxford, Canterbury, Jersey, amongst others and concluded at the Greenwich Theatre in London at the end of May. Several theatres, including the Greenwich Theatre, had cast and author Q&As following the performances.
